Using an Iyengar yoga base, I incorporate yin (gentle) as well as more yang (dynamic) styles into a practice designed to strengthen as well as lengthen and stretch the body. Music and breathwork are often brought in to encourage movement and physical opening within the poses. This allows students to experience their bodies more fully and to relax, calm, and center the mind. Sessions are adjusted to fit individual needs, and beginners are welcome.
I am a graduate of, among other programs, the Iyengar advanced teacher-training program with Rodney Yee, and most recently studied Ashtanga yoga in Mysore, India.
I teach private yoga therapy sessions, tailored to individual needs and body types, for $75 an hour. You are welcome to share these sessions with one or two other people at the same rate for the group.
